Kanye West has suffered another setback after his talent agency, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), dropped him.Â
Kanye West Dropped By His Creative Artists Agency
This news arrives on the back end of the mass criticism that the star has received for his comments in which he stated he would go ‘def con 3’ on Jewish people.
And in line with several other major companies such as Balenciaga and JP Morgan, CAA have now decided to drop him. In an official statement given on behalf of the company, a representative said the following: “I can confirm that Kanye is not a client.”
Much in the same way, Kanye’s upcoming documentary has also been scrapped as MRC Entertainment studio executives confirmed the news. This was a major setback for Kanye since the documentary had reportedly been completed.
The studio executives Modi Wiczyk, Asif Satchu and Scott Tenley have come out to address the situation by making it clear in no uncertain terms that they are looking to disassociate themselves with the rapper.
In an official statement, they said: “This morning, after discussion with our filmmakers and distribution partners, we made the decision not to proceed with any distribution for our recently completed documentary about Kanye West.
“We cannot support any content that amplifies his platform.” In reality, this should not come as a surprise. Kanye made it absolutely clear during his interview with Piers Morgan that he was ‘ absolutely not’ sorry for his initial comments.
That was bound to have damaged the credibility of the brands that were associated with him, which is why numerous companies have decided to cut ties.
And this was the sentiment that was being reflected on social media. One person wrote: “He has been getting more and more arrogant by the day lately!!!!”
With Kanye now severely being hampered in his ventures going forward, will he decide to back down from his stance? Time will tell. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
