‘The Young And The Restless’ spoilers show that there has been a bit of a pause in the show’s storytelling for the past few years. There’s no getting around it, and sadly, we have to see a lot of the same old plots. After examining love triangles, office drama, and Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) role as the family’s outcast, we now return to Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) struggle with sobriety.
The storyline surrounding the kidnapped and drugged Newman family has been difficult lately, and Nikki, who survived by receiving an IV of straight liquor, has been under fire. However, judging from recent events and Nikki’s constant consumption of alcohol on the Newman ranch, it appears that we will return to a more complex and drawn-out examination of her alcoholism.
“Cole & Victoria see Claire while Victor tends to Nikki after she’s finally home.”
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) Bonds With Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) During Recovery Storyline?
Several viewers are already perplexed as to why in the world a recovering alcoholic—let alone one who was recently hooked up to an IV—would have bottles of alcohol lying around the house after watching Nikki reflect on the booze in her home.
We appear to be heading in this direction, and regrettably, we will have to cope with the consequences. We simply hope that because the holidays are approaching, they won’t subject her to undue stress so that we may enjoy an amazing Christmas episode.
While everything is going on, we’re still holding out hope that they’ll at least take use of the chance to interact with Adam and have him end up assisting Nikki, making her realize he’s not the useless step-son she’s always thought him to be. It would be interesting to see whether he could be the bigger guy, support her through her issues, and maybe even become friends with her because of it.
What do you think? Would you like to see Adam and Nikki bond, or will the writers draw out the storyline too long and make it a complete snore fest? Let us know in the comments below.
