ITV ‘Coronation Street’ spoilers have revealed that the next couple of weeks are going to be hard for the Bailey family as they will be at the forefront of a hard-hitting racism storyline. The Bailey’s have already been one of the most welcome additions to the soap and have already been involved in one of the soap’s biggest stories.
Viewers will remember that James Bailey has recently come out as gay. The storyline is particularly important given that there are currently no professional players that have come out. James had hoped that his father would understand, but his reaction drove a wedge between them. However, they are set to be fighting for the same cause over the coming weeks.
ITV ‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers: Ed And Michael Subjected To Racial Abuse
The Bailey’s will be centre stage again next week, as this new storyline will kick off. Michael and Ed will be working on the Bistro when the new manager at the Bistro will make a racist remark to the father and son. Viewers will already have a disdain to Ray Crosby after he tried to make Michelle Connor and Alya Nazir sleep with him. They both rejected and ended up getting fired. But, he then tried to blackmail Abi Franklin.
The nasty piece of work continues with his tirade over the coming weeks, as viewers will be introduced to Don. Don will be the new manager at the Bistro, and overseeing the building work that is taking place. However, he will call Ed and Michael into the office for a word after he isn’t thrilled with the job that they are doing.
ITV ‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers: Don’s Remark Leaves Ed Fuming
Ray reveals to the builders that Don isn’t happy with the work that they are doing on the Bistro and urges them to amend the mistakes. The workers agree to make the changes, but Ed is then left fuming after Don makes a racist remark as he walks past the two of them while they are working.
Michael is taken aback that his father didn’t say anything to Don about his comment. Don makes another comment later on in the day, which leads Michael to question why he is letting Don get away with being racist to them. Viewers could be stunned be the revelation, as the scenes are likely to be distressing for fans of the ITV soap.
