In Silence is a game developed by Ravenhood Games that pits up to 6 survivors against a monster controlled via another person or AI that cannot see, but instead relies on noise to find it’s prey and make a tasty treat.
I’ve played through as the survivor and monster a fair amount, and have since picked up a few useful tips and tricks for avoiding the creature and making it out quickly and silently. These work especially well towards the beginning of the match when you have a full crew. Of course, it can still help toward the end-game.
Tip #1: Use your rocks… For God’s Sake… USE YOUR ROCKS
In the beginning, rocks may seem silly, but holy crap are they effective. After playing as the monster and getting down to one person to eat, those rocks make it especially hard to find the last survivor.
They make a decent ping on the creature’s sound radar and can make it very difficult to track down the survivor.
Even if the monster gets close to you, throw a rock off in the distance, it could save your life. Plus, the best part is your automatically pick up rocks as your travel around the map. Use them.
3 Quick Tips For Survivors To Escape The Monster In ‘In Silence’!
Tip #2: Crouch & Use Decoys
Throughout the map, they give you several resources to mess with the creature and create diversions. In fact, you may not have realized, you can pick up all of these, including fireworks!
If you don’t want to set them off right away, pick them up (they will use an inventory slot) and set them somewhere throughout the map. Set them off and run away. This works for scarecrows (place them in doorways) along with bear traps.
Televisions and radios are another headache for the creature and will continue to ping on their radar until they destroy it. On your way out of a house? Turn on the television or radio on your way out. It will annoy the monster.
Tip #3: Beginning / Battery Life
With your battery life in your flashlight, you get about 2 flashbangs before you’re empty. I take this into account, and in the beginning, while the rest of the survivors are out, I will usually sprint to the nearest building. Even if I get caught, I know I have that flashbang to make my getaway from the creature.
Plus, chances are that the building will have a battery to replace your flashbang in one of the drawers. I play pretty fast and loose in the beginning because I know I have an out. Of course, once in the house, crouch so you make less noise and keep an ear out for the creature. If he does come for you, loot, loot as fast as you can, and drop a flash bang if he catches you. It’s bound to happen, but you have the chance to getaway, use it.
There are 3 simple, fast tips that could help you survive and get the resources to rebuild the getaway car faster.
