Often when players start a new career mode they are always looking towards the future. That means bringing in the best young talent from around the world. However, sometimes you just can’t beat bringing in a secure and well-tested pair of hands.
There are some players on the latest edition of FIFA that have been on the game for the past 20 years, but are still as popular to sign as they ever were. While the potential may not be there, you will know that you’re getting an excellent player that can do the job when you sign these excellent older players.
FIFA 20: Iker Casillas
Age: 38
Club: FC Porto
When people talk about the best goalkeepers that have ever put on a pair of gloves, Iker Casillas is a name that is always mentioned. The Spanish stopper is still as talented as ever, with many even saying that he could be about to move to an elite club once again this summer. The World Cup-winning goalkeeper is one of the most astute signings that can be made on FIFA this year, as players will only have to pay in the region of £2.3 million. His wages are also tiny for a player of his quality, with Casillas likely to agree on wages in the region of £7,000 per week.
FIFA 20: Carlos Tevez
Age: 35
Club: Boca Juniors
Fans that grew up between 2006 and 2013 will realise just how talented Carlos Tevez was. He was instrumental in Manchester United’s Champions League-winning season in 2008, before then helping Manchester City win their first-ever Premier League title. While players on FIFA 20 won’t be getting that same energetic player, they will still be getting someone that can play a pivotal role in the final third. He has a 77 rated shooting ability and 73 for creating chances. He can be best deployed in a number ten role, and will only cost £5 million.
FIFA 20: Edinson Cavani
Age: 32
Club: PSG
There aren’t many better strikers in world football than Edinson Cavani, and the best news for FIFA players is that they can get the prolific frontman on a free transfer at the end of the first season on FIFA 20. His rating remains high, with his 87 finishing and 88 jumping ratings highlighting that he will be as comfortable at running in behind as he is in the air. Obviously, you will need to pay his wages, which will be in region of £150,000 per week, but it would be an incredibly astute signing for those with remaining money to spend in the January window when you can negotiate with players out of contract.
