Viewers will be aware that David has been failing to come to terms with the fact that Shona Platt doesn’t remember him after being shot by Derek Milligan, and that his only response has been getting into trouble with the wrong crowds.
A few weeks ago, David infuriated a group of teenagers after throwing a beer can at them. They pinned him against the wall and demanded his wallet and his phone but David refused to be bullied. He saw that they had a knife and that led him to kick one of them before making a run for it back to Weatherfield. He was able to escape on that occasion, but could he not be so lucky next time?

Viewers have been worried about David ever since they saw him get an adrenaline rush from his previous altercation, and that looks set to be one of the big stories that Corrie will explore next week. He will head to a rough end of Manchester and confront a group a sketchy group of men. He will lean on their car before walking over the top of it.
His family have been concerned for his safety ever since it was revealed that Shona didn’t want to see David in Leeds. Their alarm bells will be ringing next week as David misses Gail’s party. David will then be faced with running away again after the drug dealers want to take action of their own, but will he be able to escape?

Earlier in the episode, David will lie to his family about where he is going, as he doesn’t choose to tell them that he could potentially be in danger. Viewers will be hoping that David will be able to escape, and he could find an unlikely ally in Craig Tinker. It would appear that he would get away unharmed this time, as spoilers have already revealed that Shona is set to return this month.
However, will her return to Weatherfield bring good news for David, or will it be more bad news? Viewers will be hoping that good news will be awaiting David, as more bad news could finally tip him over the edge and finally see him get into more trouble than he can handle.
