Pokemon fans were delighted when it was revealed that Pokemon Yellow would be remastered to couple with the release of the Nintendo Switch. The series of Yellow, Blue and Red games were among the most loved by Pokemon fans, with players able to explore their way through the Kanto region that had become famous in the series that followed Ash and Pikachu on their adventure.

The initial success that the 1998 releases achieved was immense, with the games still regarded among the very best ever made. The series was included in IGN’s top 100 games of all-time. But, while fans that rushed out to buy Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu were thrilled with the nostalgic throwback they were able to get from playing, there were a number of changes in the game.

Pokemon Go- Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu Connection

One of the biggest misses from the release from 2018 is the exclusion of the Safari Zone in Fuchsia City. This was often the place where you could come face to face with rarer Pokemon, but in the Switch release it is used to help players trade their Pokemon for the mobile game ‘Pokemon Go’. The Pokemon Go Park is a night little development in the game, and does show how far it has come in the past 22 years.

    Pokemon News: Rocket Game Corner

The other way that players were able to get their hands on rare Pokemon was in the Game Corner in Celadon City. Players could gamble to earn themselves coins that they could then spend to buy the Pokemon that they desperately wanted. However, that is no longer the case as there is no option for players to gamble in the most recent edition. However, fear not, the Pokemon that were available in the Game Corner can now be caught in different locations.

Pokemon News: Catching Pokemon Is Different

The biggest aspect that players struggle to get past is the difference in catching Pokemon. No longer will they appear at random in the wild. Players will now be able to see the Pokemon for themselves. This is very similar to what it is like in Pokemon Sword and Shield, except players, don’t battle the Pokemon, they must instead through the ball like they do in Pokemon Go. It’s a big difference, but players are still able to get their EXP points by catching the Pokemon.
