A new title is available on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC that might have slipped through the cracks. From V1 Interactive, “Disintegration is a sci-fi FPS combined with RTS elements. Pilot a heavily weaponized Gravcycle while commanding your troops on the ground as you battle through a thrilling single-player campaign and in frenetic PvP multiplayer.”, according to their official Steam page.
While ‘Disintegration’ looks to create something unique and new, it looks like it may have tried too much at once, muddying the waters. It’s received very mixed reviews, with some praising it for it taking a chance, while others think they through too much into the soup pot at once.

Reviews like, “Fun mechanics and intriguing story at first, but more and more issues pop up that drag it down from sorta fun to insanely boring and repetitive”, and “Hybridising genres excites me. Taking even the basic gameplay loops of two long-established genres and mashing them up can at least make something somewhat interesting – at least for a little while. Disintegration treads this long-neglected (and possibly a little treacherous) path by incorporating RTS-style unit management into a (somewhat) fast-paced first-person.” filled their Steam page.
It looks like people want to enjoy it, there’s just too much going on and too much repetition to keep everyone interested. This is too bad, but hopefully, the developers can fix some of these issues before they get too far into release. It looks to have a lot of promise, but of course, gaming is subjective.
