Friends star Matthew Perry has revealed that he thought he was impotent after failing to get an erection.
Friends Star Matthew Perry Recalls Thinking He Was Impotent-‘Sex Was Something For Other People’
An impotent person is someone who cannot get an erection or an organism, which all played out in his memoir ‘Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing.’ And as part of that process, Matthew stated how he struggled to have sex during his teenage years.
He ended up having numerous beers before trying to have sex, but it was to no avail. But rather than realizing that the beers were hampering him, Matthew thought that something was wrong with him.
In his book, he wrote: “I was walking around the planet thinking sex was something for other people. For a long time. Sex sounded awfully fun, but it was not in my arsenal.”
This did end up changing when he began to date Carrie Fisher’s half-sister Tricia Fisher. Matthew ended up disclosing his issues to her, as she reassured him that there was nothing wrong with him.
Low and behold she was right, as Matthew had managed to become comfortable with sex as the rest was history. His following comments confirmed as much: “Sure enough… sheer glory for two whole minutes.”
The fans on social media could not help but laugh about the whole situation. This was on the basis that some had gone through a similar experience which is why it had resonated with them.
Meanwhile, others questioned why Matthew would decide to disclose such private information about his sex life to the whole world. After all, once it has been revealed, there is no way of taking it back.
One person wrote: “To be honest, that describes the first time I had sex…or perhaps, attempted to.” It is fair to say that this is not Matthew’s finest moment, not that he will care since he did decide to go ahead and reveal all.
