An intruder attacked Paul Pelosi with a hammer on Friday in his home in San Francisco. He sustained serious injuries from the attack and is now hospitalized. According to reports, the intruder struck Paul Pelosi in the head and body several times. However, the theory about what happened that Elon Musk decided to share on Twitter is a ‘bit’ different.
The official story about the San Francisco home attack is that the intruder entered through the back door. He asked for Nancy Pelosi in particular as she appears to have been the initial target. However, after a short fight, he ended up hitting the 82-year-old Paul Pelosi several times. The police report backs this story up. However, Elon Musk is doubtful if it’s true.
Elon Musk Suggests Paul Pelosi’s Attacker Was A Gay Prostitute That Left Home With Him In A Now Deleted Tweet
As expected, the news made the headlines almost immediately. However, as the news spread, rumors and conspiracy theories about the truth behind the event started emerging as well.
Elon Musk chose to believe the conspiracy theory that the attack happened after Paul Pelosi had a few drinks in a gay club. According to Elon Musk’s now-deleted story, Paul Pelosi attended a party in a gay club before going home with the person that attacked him. Elon Musk’s shared report suggests that the person accompanying Paul Pelosi actually was a gay prostitute that worked at the club.
Elon Musk re-tweeted a tweet originally posted by Hillary Clinton, in which she mentioned the headline of an article – suggesting Paul Pelosi went home with the gay prostitute David DePape. However, no more than 5-6 hours after the billionaire posted the tweet, he deleted it without explanation.
Now, right-wing members accuse him of being afraid of the ‘leftist mob’. Hillary Clinton shared the article and claimed that the attack on Nancy Pelosi’s husband was a product of Republican propaganda.
“The Republican Party and its mouthpieces now regularly spread hate and deranged conspiracy theories.” – Clinton said. “It is shocking, but not surprising, that violence is the result. As citizens, we must hold them accountable for their words and the actions that follow.”
Elon Musk, who owns Twitter for several days now, saw the tweet and felt the urge to give his view on the situation.
“There’s a tiny possibility there may be more to this story than meets the eye.” – Elon Musk tweeted Hillary Clinton’s tweet.
The billionaire included an additional link to a Santa Monica Observer article elaborating on the conspiracy about the hammer attack. According to ‘The Times’, this outlet recently published numerous false news. They describe the newsletter as being ‘notorious for publishing false news’.
As always, people started having divided opinions on the matter. However, Elon Musk’s tweet received mostly negative comments this time. People blame him for hate speech and for sharing false news.
Even though Elon Musk deleted the tweet, before doing so, it gained about 25 000 re-tweets and 90 000 likes. What this means is that a bog pool of people already saw and read it.
“A big problem in contemporary American politics is that one party has become obsessed with conspiracy theories. It encourages radical responses including anti-democratic actions and violence. Musk will just make the problem worse.” – Dan Moynihan, a professor at Georgetown University said about Musk’s tweet.
“The latest conspiracy theory about Paul Pelosi’s attack is frankly too disgusting to print.” – NBC News reported Ben Collins said. He questioned Elon Musk’s sanity for sharing the misinformation.
