We’re getting back in these mobile games starting with Wrestling GM. If you enjoyed the wrestling booking sims mentioned here on GameStingr, you’ll likely enjoy this one.

If those games proved to be too involved to get into Wrestling GM is one that will prove to be an easier play for you.

    Wrestling GM

I came across Sicko Games’ debut title by chance while looking for MDickie’s Booking Revolution on Google Play. Upon getting into the game, I found that it’s basically Total Extreme Wrestling 2005 for mobile.

The main difference is that you’re not working with a big pool of talent. Each roster is made up created wrestlers each with their own backstory. Later updates allow players to edit wrestlers’ bios as they wish.

Going back to the roster and talent pool, in Total Extreme Wrestling, you have a large game world and can hire or fire talent based on your company size. In WGM, the rosters are all locked in.

No one gets fired and you have to hire wrestlers from other rosters. Also, there isn’t a traditional currency system. Instead, you get coins depending on how good your booking is.

Your booking also determines how much experience you get back to train your wrestlers or boost their fan bases. This is in addition to whatever fans and skill improvements they get from being in matches and segments.

As with any booking sim made past 2004, your wrestlers can become fatigued. I haven’t found out if they can become injured since I tend to move them to angles—interviews and attacks—when they tire out.

The feud system is probably the biggest improvement made to the game so far with you being able to track feuds in a fashion similar to Extreme Warfare Revenge and Promotion Wars. Tag teams and factions can be formed as well.

One thing that will need to be improved is the weekly show time of 90 minutes. I can see Sicko Games changing this or putting in a show system where you can change the time or something.

Another thing is the lack of competition that even TEW successor Extreme Warfare Deluxe and fellow mobile booking sims Booking Revolution, Wrestling Revolution, and Modern Mania Wrestling feature in varying degrees.

We’ll have to wait and see how that cooks.

    Mobile Gaming Verdict: 8/10

Sicko Games started off to a rough start mainly because of the use of coins to hire talent and the $15 price tag for a mobile game. The price was audacious and still is and the game is stingy with coins.

However, the studio is regular with updating the game with new features, and being able to play beyond two months really opens this game up. Is it more of the same? Yes, but that’s simulators at the core

You get into a routine of doing particular acts. Your two main goals are to upgrade or improve your workers/holdings and make money. Everything else builds up to those two objectives.

Wrestling GM is no different. As a matter of fact, I’d say that this game is a good intro to the TEW-style of gameplay. I will say that the features brought in have been big ones for the game.

I recommend this one for wrestling fans but those who enjoy business sims will find this a lighter but still fun title.
