ITV ‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers reveal that viewers are going to be sickened over the next couple of weeks as Clayton Hibbs begins to spin a web of lies around what David Platt is really like. Viewers will remember that Clayton was pushed out of Shona’s life as part of their living arrangement, as David refused to have any connection to him after he was the one that killed David’s wife Kylie.
Viewers weren’t aware that Shona was Clayton’s mother until further in their relationship, with David finally told later on. David didn’t know how to react and their relationship needed to overcome a number of hurdles before they were able to move forward. David stated that they could only progress if there is no relationship between Clayton and his mother; something that Shona ultimately decided was for the best.

The relationship between Clayton and Shona was at an all-time low when the shooting on Christmas day took place. Clayton escaped from prison a number of years ago and took his mother hostage. Ultimately, Shona was able to escape his clutches by stabbing him which allowed the police to take him back into custody.
However, due to Shona’s memory loss, she can’t remember any of that happening. She pays him a visit in prison next week. She is warned by her care worker that he will look different from the last time she saw him, but she hopes that she will be able to use the visit to jog her memory and fill in the blanks.

When Shona visits him, Clayton will use this as a perfect opportunity to turn Shona against David for good. He will tell her a number of lies in the hope that they would be able to form a new relationship. However, the care worker could prove pivotal as she will be aware that he is trying to manipulate his mother.
Spoilers would indicate that she may not believe his lies, as the trailers have already pictured Shona running out of the prison. There will be further hope for fans hoping that there is a future for David and Shona next week when Shona pays the Platt’s a visit. However, she will hand David a fresh setback by admitting that he can’t be there while she is.
