Pokemon fans were given the news that they had been waiting months for on Tuesday as it was revealed that the expansion for Pokemon Sword & Shield will be released on the 17th June. Players will be able to download the extension and uncover the region of Tundra, but there are still so many questions left unanswered.

The announcement was revealed with a lengthy video highlighting some of the Pokemon that will be available to players’ in the expansion, while there were also sneak peeks at the legendary Pokemon that will be available to players. But, are there some aspects that fans will still need answering?

Pokemon Sword & Shield Expansion Pack: Old Pokemon Returning

The best news for players of the game was the welcome sight of some returning faces. Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield’s main negative was that not many of the original Pokemon were included in the original release. That will change with the extension, with the video indicating 200 old Pokemon will be added.

Among those were the additions of Bulbasaur and Squirtle, while Slowpoke, Magnemite and Chansey will also be included There will also be Johto Pokemon available for trainers to catch in the form of Kingdra, Blissey and Marill. With over 200 Pokemon added, there will be hours of entertainment to be had for players.

Pokemon Sword & Shield Expansion Pack: Legendary Pokemon

There is already a fear among players that the inclusion of so many legendary Pokemon could have an adverse effect, especially when it comes to online play. Players of the games that watched the video would have seen Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Raikou all included.

There will also be Landorus included in the game, which will already be a contentious issue for many fans. Being able to catch legendary Pokemon will certainly increase entertainment, which means that the inclusion of them may yet turn out to be a positive.

Pokemon Sword & Shield Expansion Pack: Levels Of Pokemon

It has already been revealed that all Pokemon Sword & Shield players will be able to download the game, which does raise the question surrounding what levels the Pokemon will be in the expansion pass. Most players that will download the game would have become Pokemon Master, which will mean that their squads will be very strong.

But, it hasn’t been revealed whether the Pokemon in the extension will get stronger or the expansion will be treated as a brand new game entirely. Fans will be hoping that they can continue to add to their squads, but they will still be awaiting official confirmation on whether the Pokemon that they can expect to encounter will be at least a level 60.
