ITV ‘Coronation Street’ spoilers finds that sactress Katie McGlynn has this week spoken at length about how she hopes Bertie Osbourne’s life plans out. McGlynn left the ITV soap last year after her character Sinead Tinker lost her battle with cervical cancer. In the heartbreaking scenes that aired towards the end of 2019, the soap aired special episodes that were solely focused on Sinead and her final days.
Bertie hasn’t enjoyed an easy life to this point, and he was nearly not born at all. Sinead was diagnosed with cancer while she was pregnant with the son, and she was urged by doctors to have an abortion in a bid to save her life. However, Sinead was dedicated to giving birth, and doctors hailed it as a miracle when Bertie was born early but was healthy.

In a bid to have the baby that she desperately craved, Sinead put off having treatment for the cancer. The decision likely had an effect on her health, but she revealed that she wouldn’t have wanted it any other way as Bertie was everything that she dreamed of and more. However, her death left Daniel Osbourne alone, and he has struggled to come to terms with being a single parent.
His struggles were clear for all to see from the early stages, as he turned to alcohol in a bid to overcome the grief he was feeling. However, his family stepped in and decided that Daniel should head to a retreat and grieve. The decision seems to have paid off, as Daniel has returned to Weatherfield with a new outlook on life, and his priority is now looking after Bertie.

Speaking to the Express, McGlynn has spoken at length about how she would like to see Bertie’s life develop as he gets older. She revealed in the interview that she believes that Sinead would have liked to see Bertie go in the same direction as his father and do well in school before going onto university.
She also revealed that she would love for Bertie to be as carefree as Sinead was, and that he would be as ‘weird’ as she was. Sinead was always worried that her son wouldn’t remember who she was when he got older, but Daniel is determined to make sure that doesn’t happen. However, there will be a test over the coming weeks as there is a new love interest in Daniel’s life. But, is he ready to move on?
