Stargirl, the CW superhero series, will be over following the conclusion of the current season.
CW Cancels Stargirl With The Third Season Set To Be The Last
The series stars Brec Bassinger as the lead character, as the series caps off its third and final season in December. During the course of that process, the show earned over just half a million viewing figures.
That has been a significant reduction since it first aired with around a reduction of “25 and 50 percent from its sophomore run.”
But now that the show is over, the creator Geoff Johns had this to say: “We were aware this was possibly the last season.
“So we wrote with that in mind and have delivered what I believe to be the best season of Stargirl yet, with complete creative closure.”
Much in the same way, Bassinger was thankful for being given the chance to play the character. Prior to this show, her career was hardly something to write home about. Her claim to fame was the role of ‘Roni’ in the comedy series ‘All Night.’
While that may have been the case, reports indicate that she has moved on to her next role with suggestions she will play the character of Margaret in ‘The Man in the White Man.’ But through it all, Brec had forged many positive memories from the show.
Her following comments confirmed as much: “Getting to play Stargirl and be a part of the DC Universe has been the greatest honor, and I am so grateful for every moment of it.
“The CW, the cast and crew of Stargirl, and of course, the fans. Thank you. This show will forever live in my heart.” The fans on social media were disappointed by the news.
A certain subset of people felt that there was still more to this story line and hoped that it would be picked up in the future. One person wrote: “CW leaves behind only a lot of disappointed fans.
“Later they will regret the driven away audience… #SaveNancyDrew.” So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
