Selena Gomez Recalls Feeling Suicidal During Her 2016 Revival Tour-‘I Don’t Want To Be Alive’
The star’s comments were made in relation to her new documentary, “My Mind and Me.” During the course of the tour, Gomez ended up performing over 50 times before she decided to cancel it citing mental health.
Things had gotten so serious to the point where Selena’s friend, Raquelle, admitted that Gomez began to hear voices in her head. Subsequently, Selena would be diagnosed with bipolar disorder as she got the requisite help that she needed.
But at one point, she did question the meaning of her life. In some comments by Selena’s former assistant, Theresa, the latter said: “At one point she’s like, ‘I don’t want to be alive right now.
“I don’t want to live. And I’m like, ‘Wait, what? It was one of those moments where you look in her eyes and there’s nothing there. It was just pitch black. It’s so scary.”
Things were also not helped by Selena not being on very good terms with her mother, Mandy Teefey. The latter discovered her daughter’s struggles via TMZ, as Selena cut ties with her.
Things did not get better from thereon, though, as Selena allegedly had another mental health crisis in 2018. This was on the basis that her lupus resulted in her being rushed to hospital.
But through it all, she has managed to turn things around and find happiness in her life. And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media.
A significant proportion of the fan base praised Selena for managing to overcome her obstacles and create great music in the process. One person wrote: “I love her sm.”
One thing Selena has shown is that she is willing to fight through her demons, and that is something that should be applauded. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
