ITV ‘Coronation Street’ spoilers have indicated that Eileen Grimshaw could hold the key to save Yasmeen Nazir from prison time after killing her controlling and abusing husband Geoff Metcalfe. Viewers were gripped from start to finish during Friday night’s episode as fans were given a special look into the struggles that Yasmeen goes through at the hands of Geoff.
The episode has already received widespread acclaim, with some claiming that it could be one of the most important episodes in the history of the soap. The closing moments of the episode saw Yasmeen tipped over the edge after being berated by her husband. Geoff admitted that he could kill her now, and that led to Yasmeen picking up a bottle and hitting him over the head, before stabbing him in the throat.

The final minutes of the episode saw Geoff rush Yasmeen back home after she demanded to know how much of her money she had given to Tim and Sally for their wedding. He hastily rushed her over the street and locked her indoors, with Yasmeen’s face pressed against the glass in tears. Eileen was watching from a distance in disbelief as she headed towards the Rovers.
Fans were screaming at their televisions hoping that Eileen was going to jump to Yasmeen’s defence when she entered the pub after Tim, Sally, Brian and Cathy were all talking about Yasmeen. Eileen admitted that she saw them arguing and admitted that Yasmeen looked to be in a bit of a mess. However, it would seem that she didn’t see Geoff lock her in the house.

There are a host of characters that could jump to her defence after admitting to seeing a difference in her. Peter Barlow has been a shoulder to cry on over recent weeks, and has certainly seen that something unusual is happening in their relationship. Meanwhile, Cathy could choose to side with her friend despite their arguments over the past couple of weeks that have been manipulated by Geoff.
Sally could also be an important character as she saw Geoff burning all of Yasmeen’s clothes and has looked worried about her. The next couple of weeks of episodes will see the aftermath from Friday’s episode, but will Yasmeen find an ally from somewhere?
