Nine to Five is a free-to-play 3v3v3 first-person shooter. It’s currently in early access and launched on August 26th for everyone, however, the reviews are not great. In fact, with over 700 reviews, they’re mostly negative.
So, what about this title makes it so bad when it looks pretty decent in the trailers? From user reviews, it seems like it’s a bit clunky with the controls and feels like a mid-2000s’-era shooter with premade assets that they kind of threw together.
You also cannot edit the controls which is a big red flag for many players who have a certain layout they prefer. There’s a shortlist of weapons, progression is currently locked at level 10, and there are only two maps.
What Is Nine To Five And Why Is The Early Access Getting Harsh Reviews?
The good thing is this game is still in early access and I’m sure there’s plenty more that’s going to be added, I think the developers at Redhill Games just got anxious and maybe pushed early access too quickly.
It does feature some unique ideas, like the three teams of three, multiple game modes that are different, and while there are only two maps they do have a lot within them.
I think this may be a bomb in early access but give it another year and it could be the perfect title for fans of Rainbow Six: Siege.
Keep an eye out on Nine to Five on Steam and follow their development, as they could really have something special on their hands. It has potential, I think it just needs the room to grow a bit more.
