Let’s look at Mechanist Games’ dive into Archero–style games with Path of Immortals. I can’t really say anything unique about this title as the subgenre has seen so many games on mobile that have used this formula.
Hell, we’ve gone into two clones and the original game here on Screenstinger in a year. Let’s dive into this one and see if it stands out.
Path of Immortals
This will be a hard one to explain. It isn’t a hard or complex game at all, it’s actually pretty stock for games in the Archeroclone subgenre. It does have a little something extra in introducing a melee character instead of just all ranged characters.
Also, the plot here isn’t particularly important to note either. There’s just enough story to get players started but like so many mobile games, you’ll probably forget it after getting into the action of Path of Immortals.

I know I did. Then again, the introduction wasn’t really the most involved or lengthy—which I greatly appreciate. The action in PoI isn’t going to wow you but it is constant and you will learn to read the movements of monsters, how to best use each upgrade, and where you need to be to avoid ranged attacks.
Basically, all the stuff you’d need to pick up quickly when playing Archero. I do like the art style here. Both outdoor and underground stages are pretty damn colorful and you can expect plenty of magic/light projectiles in battle, so you sometimes get something similar to bullet hell effects.
Mobile Gaming Verdict: 6.5/10
I’d say that this game is pretty good. It’s not great or groundbreaking nor is it bad. I suppose the best way to explain Path of Immortals is that it is a strong Archeroclone.
The genre has been almost done to death at this stage but it’s not unusual to really fun games in it. PoI is one of them and gets a bit of good faith for having no mandatory or intrusive ads.
Ultimately, it doesn’t stand out much from other games of the same ilk that we’ve reviewed here but it is the best clone highlighted in the Mobile Gaming Review so far.

[…] Sega’s Phantasy Star Online 2 is coming to Xbox One in Q2 2020. I found it extremely odd that Phantasy Star Online would land on Xbox One as its North American launch but I’m happy for Xbox One players. It’s something different on the console—especially when all signs point to it not being on XB1. […]
