‘Final Fantasy VII Remake‘ is right around the corner! Fans are anxiously awaiting release and I know I’m dying from anticipation. Unfortunately, I ordered the physical pre-order so I may have to wait even longer. Don’t worry about me though, just send me pictures and music samples from in-game.
There is some good news, however, as we’ve gotten more news concerning the title! In a new interview from ‘Final Fantasy VII Remake’ producer, Yoshinori Kitase, and Co-Director Naoki Hamaguchi, they discuss how Midgar’s areas are being expanded and the NPCs who live there. Also, Red XIII’s involvement in the game and post-game content! All of this content is broken down into an easy to digest five-minute video from Youtube channel Soldier_1stClass.

New ‘Final Fantasy VII Remake’ Information! | New Areas, Post Game Content, & More
The trailers and demos we’ve had so far have been very exciting. Though the combat system is not the classic turn-based style from 1997, it makes you more involved in the battles and boss fights are a little bit more difficult I think. This should make the game more interesting as you progress.
In the news, they mention that mini-bosses will still be included around the world, so that’s a relief. However, the popular character Red XIII will not be a playable character. They felt since he was a late-game addition to your team, it wouldn’t be worth it. However, apparently most of the developers felt like us, and they added an extra part to the climax to highlight Red XIII and make him more important to the story.
Even though we won’t get Red XIII as a playable character, there’s still a lot to look forward to!
